Hon. Principal Civil Medical Officer,

I regret to inform you of the death of

John Arthur Hirst, Overseer, Public Works Department, which

occurred quite suddenly from heart failure at 5 a.m. today.

He was admitted early on the morning of the

31st. suffering from alcoholism but no signs of a fatal result

showed themselves until within a few minutes of his death.
